Greenhouse roof failure

Heavy snow from winter storm Benedict caused several sections of the Garden Barn greenhouse roof to collapse, because of our temporary shut down for inventory no employees or customers were present at the time of the collapse.  The greenhouse will be fully repaired and operational for the spring of 2011.

The Garden Barn will be closed from January 1 through January 23 for inventory.  We appreciate your patronage and look forward to seeing you again when we reopen on January 24.

Construction halted for winter
Vernon - December, 2010

Construction on the 11,000 square foot open air pavillion has been stopped for the winter and will resume in March of 2011.  While we are well on the way toward completion the area will not be fully open for the holiday season as originally hoped.

Winner of the Tolland County Chamber of Commerce Beautification Award

The Garden Barn is the proud recipient of the 2010 Tolland County Chamber of Commerce Beautification Award.  The Garden Barn has been honored previously for its park style rennovation of the adjoining pond property; and is being recognized for its continued efforts during their expansion process.  Ground broke on a new 11,000 square foot outdoor pavilion on October 13, 2010, and construction of this glass, open air structure will be completed in time for the holiday season.

Dennis and Kathy Gliha's continued work with the town of Vernon has spruced up many of the areas green spaces and continued cooperation is an important goal in defining the Vernon as a destination for garden center lovers.  Plans for the future include building a 30,000 square foot production greenhouse to match the retail facility on their adjacent property.
